One of the most important is the disappearance of the <strong>EUR.1<\/strong> certificate as a valid document to benefit from tariff preferences, giving way to the <strong>REX (Registered Exporter)<\/strong> system.<\/p><p>This change directly affects exporting companies operating between the two markets and requires proper adaptation to avoid incidents in dispatch, logistical delays or loss of tariff benefits.<\/p><p><strong>What does the end of EUR.1 in the EU-Mexico agreement imply?<\/strong><\/p><p>With the entry into force of the EU-Mexico Modernized Agreement, the EUR.1 certificate is no longer used as proof of preferential origin. From that moment on, the origin of goods must be declared by means of a <strong>declaration of origin made by an exporter registered in the REX system<\/strong>, except for shipments whose total value does not exceed 6,000 euros.<\/p><p>The new framework seeks to simplify procedures, strengthen traceability of origin and streamline bilateral trade, in line with other trade agreements already in force in the European Union.<\/p><p><strong>What is the REX system and how does it work?<\/strong><\/p><p>The REX system allows exporters to <strong>self-certify the origin of their products<\/strong>, eliminating the need to request physical certificates such as EUR.1.
